We are now approaching the time when if we were asked to self isolate due to being in contact with Covid, that the isolation period would now impact on our Christmas which is a situation none of us would want. We must follow the government guidelines: face coverings, space, washing our hands and adhering to the tier 3 restrictions. We are following all of the proper precautions in school but we must ensure that we are doing the same outside of school as well. I know that this is a period when parents are concerned about their health and that of their children coming up to the festive season, therefore we must keep them and each other safe.
Some parents have asked about closing the school in the last week of term to allow for isolation but the government have made it clear- all schools who are able should stay open and we will be following that directive. We are however closed on Friday 18th December to children though it is an inset day for staff as agreed with the DfE. Although we can’t authorise absence due to parental anxieties we do understand your concerns. Please do keep us informed for the remaining 4 school days of the term of what your intentions are in regard to school attendance by calling the school. Remember if your child is feeling even slightly under the weather you must not send them into school, we will completely understand this and of course all children can access the work on our Jotter pages to be able to keep up at home.
This will be our last newsletter of the year– what a year 2020 has been! On behalf of the whole school community we would like to wish you all a happy, safe Christmas and a more joyful, healthy new year!
