Forest School in Term 6

It has been another busy term in Forest School! The children have enjoyed a range of activities varying from building fairy houses to toasting marshmallows to identifying trees and making musical instruments. There is always time to enjoy the ‘Forest’ independently after our learning time too. The children particularly like playing hide and seek and using the rope swings as well as climbing trees and helping to saw wood for the fire. Each term two children are chosen to receive a special certificate based on their contribution and involvement in Forest School activities. This becomes even more special as they can invite a parent or family member to come to their next Forest School session to see what we get up to! It is widely proven that being active outdoors is beneficial to general health in many ways  and Forest School  aims to promote the holistic development of all those involved, fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners whilst giving those learners the opportunity to take supported risks appropriate to the environment and to themselves. We are fortunate to be able to continue our Forest School sessions next year and look forward to welcoming more parents!
